Marcus Ewald Geschäftsführer DUNKELBLAU

Marcus Ewald

Managing Partner

Profile

Marcus Ewald, managing director and partner of Dunkelblau, has been a crisis consultant since 2012. He grew up in Stuttgart, studied business administration and corporate communications in Halle, Mainz and León, Spain. In 2008 he won the German debating championship for the University of Halle.

Marcus has led crisis teams and developed strategies in over 300 special situations across industries. His great strength lies in his ability to grasp highly complex issues quickly and in detail and to analyse them in depth. The scenarios and strategies he creates enable fact-based decisions and solutions even in seemingly hopeless situations. To this end, Marcus accompanies and encourages decision-makers in unconventional ways: He is convinced that empathy, composure and humour are important companions – not only in times of crisis.

Marcus is a member of the Entrepreneurs’ Association (Die Familienunternehmer) and the German Debating Society (Deutsche Debattiergesellschaft). He is an honorary member of the Friends of the Leipzig Academy of Fine Arts (Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig/HGB). He is co-initiator of the German AI Association (Bundesverband Künstliche Intelligenz) and was the chairman of the political advisory board from 2018 to 2021. From 2016 to 2021, he was the Federal Chairman of the Young Economic Council (Junger Wirtschaftsrat).
